Community Transport
The all-electric community car can be booked by anyone who resides within the IV25 post code area.
The aim is to provide additional transportation where the current provision is patchy or non-existent. Helping people attend appointments at Raigmore Hospital is a key demand for this service, but it can be used for many other reasons too. We can also help you with visits whether it’s dentist or hairdresser, clinics or coffee shops.
If a lack of transport is stopping you from doing what you want to do or need to do, let us see if we can help.

How can you help?
We have a perfect opportunity as a volunteer driver with Dornoch Community Transport.
You don’t need to set aside a particular day or time and there’s no such thing as a shift or being on-call. That’s because we notify all of our volunteers of any new job requests and simply ask anyone who is interested and available to bid for that job. It could be a longer job such as a hospital appointment in Inverness, or it could just as easily be a half hour commitment to take someone into town to catch a bus or attend a GP appointment. So whether you want to drive several times a week, or once a month, we are interested in hearing from you. You do need to hold a clean driver’s licence and we will undertake Disclosure Scotland checks before taking you on as an approved volunteer.
